Cherry Iford - 1 yr Maiden on Giselle 5 Rootstock Cherry Iford - 1 yr Maiden on Giselle 5 Rootstock

The Iford weeping cherry is a very rare example . Compact in habit and producing a beautiful curtain of pink blossom.
The original tree was discovered in China and brought home by Harold Peto , where he planted it at his country home in Wiltshire. The garden fell into disrepair over the years and only very recently the tree was re- discovered and saved from the bonfire .
Iford Cherry can be happily grown in a pot or in the garden , very dwarf it will gradually grow to 6-8ft in a pot, slightly larger in good fertile soil in the garden.
