Fascinating colours, this is really a weeping cactus, commercially grown on a post or grafted onto a tall cactus. Ideal for a hanging basket. It is not a fast grower, with hairy like stems it can look like a mass of wild green dreadlocks. The fruit follow a short lived but spectacular flower and can take a while to ripen.

Delicious aromatic fruit, eaten raw or used in puddings, can also be preserved and made into jelly or sparkling wine. The flowers are also edible. Prefers a well drained soil, can tolerate partial shade but will love a sunny spot. It can withstand winter temperatures of -10c. Trees are 4ft approx
