Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We will charge your credit card account for payment upon receipt of order unless delivery cannot be fulfilled within 30 days. We accept no liability if a delivery is delayed because you did not give us the right payment details.
Back ordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. |
| Shipping And Handling Shipping is charged by value up to a maximum of £12.50. --- A.m. or p.m. delivery is available at an extra £3.53 and this can be chosen at the time of checkout after entering your delivery address. Please note that this is for UK mainland only. |
Delivery Schedule
Orders are normally shipped within a few days,we do not ship during inclement weather and try to despatch Monday to Wednesday so that the order is with you the same week,also avoiding parcels waiting in a couriers warehouse over the weekend. Other exceptions are bare root trees that may need lifting and seasonal conditions such as severe weather. Delivery can be arranged for a specific day or time if required.
Delivery
We will deliver the Goods to the address you specify for delivery in your order. It is important that this address is accurate. Please be precise about where you would like the Goods left if you are out when we deliver. We cannot accept any liability for any loss or damage to the Goods once they have been delivered in accordance with your delivery instructions.
We will aim to deliver within the quoted time frame but delivery times are not guaranteed. If delivery is delayed due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, we will contact you to advise you that the delivery date will have to be extended.
Risk and ownership
Risk of damage to or loss of the Goods passes to you at the time of delivery to you or, if you fail to take delivery at the agreed time, the time when we tried to deliver.

| Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. |
| Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free. |
| Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, you will be forwarded to the secure payment provider 'protx'. You may send details separately if you wish eg cheque payment or card. Please print the receipt form and fax or mail it to us with the details filled in. |
Guarantee We try to guarantee your satisfaction. Should you have any complaint regarding our plants please contact us withiin 7 days of reciept of your order. Hardy trees are guaranteed for one full season following purchase--ie. if bought during the dormant season we guarantee it will grow in Spring, if not we will replace the plant.
The guarantee is limited to the value of the plant.
Non hardy plants eg. Conservatory plants are not guaranteed beyond the 7 day period.

Incorrect Goods
If we sent you something you hadn't ordered and which was not a substitute item (see below), please contact us within 7 days informing us of the problem. You can return it within 28 working days unused in its original packaging and you will not be charged.
Damaged In Transit
If your purchase is damaged in transit, please contact us within 7 days informing us of the problem. You can return it within 28 days and either get a replacement or a refund. Please make sure you give us your order number and return the item in its original packaging.
Plants
If you receive a plant that is in bad condition when you take it out of the box, contact us immediately. We will then ask you to send us a photograph so that there is no doubt as to it's condition on arrival with you, as opposed to what it looks like by the time you return it to us. Bear in mind that plants look different depending on what time of year it is. If you choose a nice deciduous tree in the winter, remember it's going to turn up looking pretty twig-like. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it, just that it's out of season and will perk up when the weather does. However, provided that you have contacted us within 7 days of receiving the defective plant we will be happy to arrange for a refund or replacement once we have received the pictures and determined the cause of the problem.
Cancellation
To cancel an order, please drop us an e-mail at plants@readsnursery.co.uk with details of the order you are cancelling. A charge may be made if the cancellation is done after the order or a part of the order has been dispatched.
Returns
You can return anything you're not happy with within 28 days of receiving it provided you have contacted us within 7 days of receipt to advise of its return
We will not pay the costs of returning an item to us.
Until we receive the goods you are returning, they are your responsibility. For your protection and peace of mind, we recommend you use a recorded delivery service to return things.
To get a full refund, simply return the item to us in its original condition, in its original packaging within 28 days of cancellation.
If the item has been damaged, used or is not returned in its original packaging, we reserve the right to withhold a percentage of the refund value if the item needs to be reduced in price for resale.
Substitutes
If you order a plant that is unavailable, we reserve the right to replace it with something similar. You can rely on us to choose a plant that's of a comparable size and price .
