Chestnut Tree Marigoule

An early variety with large dark brown nuts. The best cultivar to plant alone if you only have room for one.

Castanea sativa - Chestnuts are happy on light soils, acid to neutral is best. A traditional tree with the wood used as fencing material. When cooking be sure to prick or score the nuts to avoid them exploding!

Generally they are early to harvest - two to four years from planting is the norm.

Supplied as a 7 ltr pot grown tree in Autumn.
