NATIONAL COLLECTION HOLDERS - CITRUS
Lemon trees and lemon bushes are probably the most rewarding of the citrus family. Fresh lemons picked from your very own lemon tree, all year round. Use your fresh lemons in lemon pies, make your own lemon squash or lemon cordial, lemons also slip nicely into a gin and tonic!
Lemon trees as a plant are not difficult to grow, pot your lemon tree into a free draining compost ,John Innes soil based no2 or 3 with 20% added drainage mixed in. Lemon trees will benefit from regular feeding with a proprietary Citrus food for lemons.
Some lemon trees are classed as ‘everbearing’ which means those varieties of lemons will flower 3 or 4 times per year, fruiting in succession ,with flower & small lemons & half size lemons and ripe lemons on the same tree. Not all varieties will do this. Four Seasons types are particularly good , as is lemon Genoa, and Lemon Meyer.
All lemon trees come with a complete cultural leaflet on care for your lemon tree, and we are available for advice should any lemon questions arise.
