Q. My Fig tree has just started dropping all of its leaves.

A. Figs do this in the Autumn as they are deciduous.

Q. There are some fluffy white growths in the leaf joints of my Bougainvillea, what are they?

A. These sound like ‘mealy bugs’ , more of a messy nuisance than harmful but they leave a sticky residue on the plant which can cause sooty mould. Spray them with ‘Plant invigorator’ several times over a period of 2 weeks and they will slowly go away. Repeat if necessary.

Q The leaves on my Lemon tree are pale and blotchy yellow, what can I do t make them green agaian?

A. This may be lack of feed, citrus are heavy feeders and need a high nitrogen and potash feed and plenty of trace elements every week during the growing season.

Q, How big are the trees you sell ?

A. Most of our maiden ,or 1 year fruit trees are 4-5ft tall , they may have been pruned back to that size depending on the growing season. 2 yr trees are 6ft tall with a heavier stem caliper and branch framework.
