Q. There are some fluffy white growths in the leaf joints of my Bougainvillea, what are they? A. These sound like ‘mealy bugs’ , more of a messy nuisance than harmful but they leave a sticky residue on the plant which can cause sooty mould. Spray them with ‘Plant invigorator’ several times over a period of 2 weeks and they will slowly go away. Repeat if necessary.
